Step-by-Step Guide to Keep Your Home's Air Clean and Fresh
Changing Your Aprilaire Air Filter: A Simple Task for Better Air Quality
Regularly changing your Aprilaire air filter helps keep your home’s air clean and your HVAC system running efficiently. Luckily, it’s a straightforward process. Follow these easy steps to ensure your air is fresh and your system is in top shape.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Turn Off the Thermostat
First, switch your thermostat to the **OFF** position and set the fan to **AUTO**. - Find the Air Filter
Head to your air handler, which is usually located in the attic. The air filter is inside the air purifier attached to the system. - Remove the Old Filter
Open the door to the air purifier and carefully pull out the old filter. - Install the New Filter
Grab the new filter and make sure the arrow on it points toward the furnace or air handler. Line up the filter with the top and bottom tracks (interlock rail system) inside the air purifier. - It’s Okay if the Filter Sticks Out
Don’t worry if part of the filter sticks out a bit—this is normal and helps create an airtight seal. - Close the Air Purifier Door
Once the new filter is in place, shut the door to the air purifier. - Reset the Thermostat
Finally, return your thermostat to its original settings, and you’re all done!
